I started training at Metroflex when I was 17 years old. The first time I walked through the door I saw Brian and Ronnie and I thought to myself that's how I want to be. That summer I learned how to really train hard. I puked more times than I can remember but I would not ever quit. And I became stronger because of it. Not just physically but mentally. Brian was and is the ultimate motivator. He always brought out the most in me every time I was in the gym. Metroflex is the greatest gym in the world not because of the people who train there but because of Brian. He sets the atmosphere and attitude of the most hardcore gym in the world. The best workouts of my life have been there. More than I can remember. From doing lunges in the parking lot in 110 degree heat to setting all of my personal lifting records in the bench, squat and deadlift, Metroflex has defined the bodybuilder that I have become.
Without Brian's guidance and motivation in my early days of lifting I would not have acheived the success I enjoy today. Metroflex caters to hardcore bodybuilders. From earpopping music to insane training there is no other gym left like Metroflex. I have been to gyms all over the world in the past several years and while I have found gyms better equipped, cleaner and with all the latest and greatest machines and technology, I have never found a gym that produced more great champion bodybuilders than Metroflex. Becoming a champion is not about expensive equipment its about hard work, dedication, and self discipline. Brian embodies and teaches all these. Metroflex doesn't let people go crazy... it actually encourages it.
Brian Dobson has had a large role in the man that I have become today. From a skinny teenager to a world champion. He has been a role model and source of motivation for the 15 years that I have know him. Thank you and God Bless you and Metroflex.
Branch Warren, Mr. Olympia Competitor
Hey Guys, I just wanted to thank you for putting together such an awesome E-Book series! I am reading the Metroflex Gym E-Book's and they are all fantastic! I am a big fan of bodybuilding and have been lifting for 20 years. I am really looking forward to giving your program a shot. It is a very complete system! Diet, Training, Supplements, and everything else you will need to build muscle! I live down in Corpus Christi, Tx but went to visit your gym Friday night. Awesome place! Definitely a "HARDCORE GYM!" What impressed me most was all of the positive energy in the gym. I spent some time reading the biblical scriptures on the wall, and was inspired by the painting of Christ Crucified on the Cross. Inspirational messages and goals were written on the walls, and you were reminded just how much Bodybuilding and Powerlifting are "Internal" as well as "External." This was not just a house of physical strength but one of emotional and spiritual strength as well! I met a powerlifter there named Randy who was a super cool guy and offered to spot me whenever I needed. It is a very supportive atmosphere. I really didn't know such a Mecca existed here in Texas and I will definitely be back up your way in the future! Thanks again and God Bless,
It is hard to explain exactly what Brian means and has done for me in the short time that I have known him. It first started with my ambitions with school. See, at that time, I was an undergraduate student at Indiana University in Bloomington. I needed to have an internship that would fullfill my credit needs and a place that i could learn alot from. Well, after searching for quite a while I came across an article in a magazine which labeled metroflex gym the most hardcore gym in the world. I thought that this would be a great internship due to the fact my interest lie in bodybuilding as i compete myself.
I decided to take a t rip down to Metroflex and see what it was all about. When I got there I immediately fell in love with the place and all it stood for. I decided that, that was where I wanted to do my internship. When I came down for my internship I had a great time. Brian was very helpful to me and taught me a lot about training and how to get the most out of yourself and how to really push it in the weight room.
I am proud to say that within 6 months of returning home from the time I spent with Brian I have gained 30 pounds of solid muscle without raising my bodyfat percentage above 13% goining from 190 to 220. I have been able to do this while working toward my Masters in Exercise Physiology which keeps me very busy, but with these numbers I should come in above 20 lbs heavier in my next competition. I have Brian to thank for all of this. Also, through his teaching me I have helped many people with training and reaching there goals as i am a trainer for IU and they have become very happy with the new training methods I have come to use.
Brian is a wonderful man who has more drive than anyone I have ever met and I take alot of pride in saying that I am friends with him and maybe one day I will become as great of a man as he is. Nathan Eckert
Brian Dobson has helped me in many ways over the past few years. In fact he has helped to shape the direction of my life. It all began in January of 2003 when my girlfriend Megan (now my fiancee) decided to do a senior English class paper on bodybuilding. She decided to do this paper because I had expressed an interest in bodybuilding. She had seen Ronnie Coleman’s The Unbelievable training video at my house and decided to contact Brian Dobson to see if he would be willing to conduct an interview for the paper. Needless to say I was very surprised that she was willing to visit Brian and Metroflex for a mere writing assignment, and even more surprised that Brian accepted. A couple weeks later, we made the trip from Kansas to Texas and conducted the interview. Brian gave us a tour of the gym and even set up a visit with Ronnie at his house. It was a great experience. When we left I assumed that I would never return to see Metroflex or Brian again. As fate sometimes has it, I was wrong. When I called up Brian the next day to thank him once more for the awesome time, he told me I should enter the upcoming Ronnie Coleman Classic bodybuilding contest. I was surprised at his comment but accepted the offer. It was my first contest and I was eighteen years old. I had told myself that one day I would enter a contest, but only when I made this improvement or that to my body. In reality, if Brian had not asked me to do the contest I may very well have never stepped on stage. From that contest on, bodybuilding has been a central part of my life. I have entered seven contest and have placed well in all but one. Brian has aided me with contest dieting, training, and encouragement ever since. I have visited and trained at Metroflex countless times over the past few years and Brian has always been willing to take time out for me when I am there. I love the environment of Metroflex and will literally spend days in the gym watching Brian train clients in addition to watching Branch Warren and Ronnie Coleman train. However, some of the best moments are when Brian speaks on his views and insights on bodybuilding from the local level all the way to the Olympia. His combination of knowledge, insight, and experience of the sport are second to none. My awesome experiences at Metroflex and with Brian have finally somewhat came full circle. I am in the process of opening my own Metroflex gym in Topeka, Kansas. It will not be centered solely on the hardcore trainers as Brian’s gym, but more to people who want results. At any rate, in early 2003 as a college freshman, I would never have guessed that four years later I would be a competitive bodybuilder opening a Metroflex gym. In the future I hope to succeed in bodybuilding and the gym’s operation. Without Brian Dobson none of this would be possible.
my name is ahmad hraichie , and i am from AUSTRALIA, I MADE THE PILGRIMAGE TO METROFLEX GYM , ALL THE WAY FROM AUSTRALIA IN JUNE OF 2006, IT WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. Thank you for showing me the true meaning of being an iron warrior. You workout plan and support helped me bring up some of my weak points on stage. Metroflex Gym is the true meaning of hardcore. I only wish I lived closer so I could work with Brian on a daliy basis because he has the tools to bring me to the next level."
Brian: A lot of customers will be glad to get back to an "average" build, so I guess this might be good for business. I don't view myself as a bodybuilder yet, more of a body re-builder! But I am looking forward to another year and learning more along the way. My biggest problem was getting information without actually seeing it work. Discovering what is possible opened my mind to new hope. You had to show me what I could do to go past my limiting doubts. I have seen changes, and I want to move on to better gains. Metroflex gym has been a place to find creative solutions to produce those gains.
My name is Armando Romas, from Coahuila, Mexico. I started bodybuilding 2 years ago. I was very confused about the right nutritian and training I should be following to reach my goals. I wanted to be bigger and leaner. During one year and a half, I was doing everything that I read or listened to in magazines, books, Internet or some local, self-called "GURU". I made gains, yes, but a LOT of bodyfat too.
Until I saw the Ronnie Coleman video "The Unbelievable." Then I knew the most FREAKY Bodybuilder in the world and his angel, Brian Dobson. I sent an email to Brian asking for help. He answered my email (very kind). He made me a right diet and workout and I started to burn a LOT of ugly body fat and I start to look GOOD! At this point I have plans to COMPETE in a local bodybuilding show!
I am very happy with my body enhancement, in my gym all the guys are so impressed with my look (more vascular and leaner) and my STRENGTH - without Brian Dobson, all my efforts would be a waste of time.
I'll keep listening to all his advise and building a FREAKY PHYSIQUE.
All the people crying my number..."29, 29, 29" in every pose you could hear WHOA!!!!!!...
Your plan was a great success, great vascularity, great size, for a novice of couse, and a great shape...
The female fitness national champion said to me "...you have a freaky physique, in a couple of years you can battle the national championship, easily, only improve your cuts, your symetry is great, congratulations"
THANK YOU SO MUCH BRIAN, I hope to improve my physique faster, and I want to fight in Arlington, I´m going to do everything you said for gain size with out fat, or the minimum...
October 2002, After I watched the Ronnie's training video, I wanted buy some Tank-tops of the metroflex gym, the famous hardcore gym in the world. Brian kind replied to my inquire and that was the start point to know Brian Dobson, the guide angel of the 6times Mr.Olympia, Ronnie Coleman and the one of the best bodybuilding experts in the world. When I visited Brian at Metroflex gym in Arlington, TX, I was 238lb, it was also my first visit to USA, I enjoyed alot the smell of real hardcore bodybuilding, and he invited me to the Ronnie Coleman Classic and his house.
After the RCC VII 2003, Brian gave me many valuable advices about whole training and nutrition through internet, and encouraged me alot. I felt like I was Ronnie in the Video "The Unbelievable". After his long sincere support for a year, I made 164lb body, so I lost about 75lb, and got the best physique ever.
Thanks again Brian.
Not just bodybuilding, but also he led me to compound bow/hunting, I won 2 archery tournaments with his encouragement and have plans for bodybuilding competitions. He is my guide angel, mentor, and good brother.
Brian is truly onto to something, that I just realize. Music that motivates in conjunction with physical movement is a winning combination! Motivating music reigns at Metroflex with Brian always been a constant motivator for individuals that seriously want to improve their physical condition. I have not quite met by all goals at Metroflex, but I sure have come along way in the process with Brian's encouragement.
Also, I am interested in disability issues and motivation and again, Brian is in tuned with that also. He recently hosted a weight lifting contest at Metroflex with some Special Olympians participating and even has a photo of himself and a Special Olympian on the front page of his website now. Brian truly understands and exemplifies that when you can tap into someone's motivation, you can truly open doors for them.
Google “most hardcore gym” and inevitably you will find several articles in different muscle magazines proclaiming Brian Dobson’s Metroflex Gym in Arlington, Texas as the gym that holds the title. Few in the know would argue with that and considering how many gyms are out there, that is an incredible title to own, “Most Hardcore Gym in the world!!” What makes it so hardcore? Is it every imaginable weight machine, rack and bench you could dream up and dumbbells up to 250lb? There is no air conditioning and in the Texas heat only the well hydrated should enter. It has heavy metal music playing at 110 decibels. Everything is dirty, worn or rusty but is that what makes it so hardcore? It took me a while to figure it out for myself, but I believe I know what makes this gym the most hardcore gym in the world. It is the heart of the beast, the warrior spirit behind all of it. It’s the owner Brian Dobson. He is the reason that Metroflex Gym is the most hardcore gym in the world. It’s an attitude he has, a mentality of hardcore if that makes sense. This is what Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman stumbled upon so many years ago. Mr. Coleman has always given credit to his success to Brian and now I understand why. Brian is someone that awakens the hardcore in people. It has happened to me personally and so many others. He makes you want to work harder than you ever have to reach your goals. It’s really hard for me to explain. Some people just have a God given gift to do great things and I see God’s great hands at work in Brian Dobson. Whether it is the Special Olympians he works with or Mr Olympia himself, he motivates everyone he comes in contact with to do better and work harder to be hardcore! If you are near Arlington Texas do yourself a favor and join this gym and see for yourself what so many of us already know. Thanks for being so hardcore Brian you have changed my life forever!!!!! I remember the first time I walked into Metroflex Gym; it felt like home. It was dark and cozy, a little worn around the edges, with inspirational comments graffiteed on the walls - and memorabilia from hundreds of events stuck everywhere. I've worked out at a lot of different gyms over the years, but most were too fancy to get really comfortable in. Not Metroflex!
I was a weak nobody, with a few ideas, and a new business (HOUSE OF PAIN). Brian made me feel like part of the family, and I have grown to consider him a part of our family. I've noticed over the years that in every type of contest, every year - there are winners who workout at Metroflex. This says a lot about the training of Brian Dobson!
I have the utmost respect for him, I wish him every success, and I hope to kill a wild hog with him soon. Can't say more than that.
I am so inspired and looking forward to my next competition. I appreciate everyone involved in the show this weekend and hope to return next year! Have a great day, you can forward the msg. to Brian if time permits, otherwise add my message to the many, thanking all of you for your hard work and support!! Take care, Cyndi Harter

Metroflex and my life was changed. I met Brian and was immediately made to feel important and that I could achieve anything. Brian has that kind of personality and that way with people. He believes in his members and makes you believe in yourself. One of the first few days I was training there, Brian was putting away a load of new Metroflex tank tops. As I went to leave, Brian tossed me a tank top and said “I think you would be good advertising for us”. Now I was all of 5’3” and 120 pounds at the time, not really Metroflex material if you know what I mean. Brian had no idea what that small act of kindness and confidence in me meant to me. I still have that Metroflex tank top 20 years later and it still means the world to me. The confidence and teaching Brian gave me as well as training in the Metroflex atmosphere has lead to a 16 year, 30 show competitive bodybuilding career that has included 2 Texas State titles, 3 Georgia State titles and 2 National Titles not to mention two several year stints working for Brian at Metroflex and the honor of helping him prepare for and put on the very first Ronnie Coleman Classic. When people here in Georgia ask me how I can train like I do I tell them it is the only way I know how, the Metroflex way…..HARDCORE !!!!! The greatest thing I got out of my time at Metroflex is one of my closest friends in the world, Brian Dobson. I pray for and thank God for Brian everyday. Although we now live 800 miles part, we e-mail each other a couple times a week. When my wife and I recently found out she was unexpectedly pregnant, Brian was the first person I told. When we sadly had a miscarriage, Brian was the first to call and say ”I Love you, man”. I guess 20 years after we first met, Brian still doesn’t know what his words mean to me. God Bless you brother!!!
I am 42 years old, and have battled my weight for a very long time. I am 5'9" and currently weigh 324 lbs. I had been pretty athletic before I started putting on the extra weight beginning in 2000. I love to compete in the Scottish Highland Games, and had been competing off and on since 2000. By 2003, I decided it was time to get serious about getting rid of the excess weight. During my first week of workouts, I experienced a tightness in my left shoulder area. Long story short, I learned that I had a narrowed artery. I carried nitroglycerin with me at all times. It's funny how something like that will make you face your mortality. By April of 2004, I had topped out at my highest weight ever, 358 lbs. In May of 2004, I spent the night in CCU due to a heart attack at the age of 39. By the Grace of God, there was no damage. My cardiologist told me to lose the weight, or I would probably be dead in the next 2 years. Now that was a wake up call! Between May of 2004 and March of 2005, I followed a supervised program that helped me to lose 70 lbs. The program was expensive, and I finally had to stop going. Over time I slowly slipped back in to my old habits and started to put the weight back on, about 50 lbs. What I learned from the program is that diet and exercise go hand in hand. You can't do one or the other. They had to be done together to be successful. I knew I needed help. I wanted to live, and I wanted to get healthy. I started praying, asking God to help me find my direction down this path. God lead me to an answer. His name is Brian Dobson, and Metroflex Gym. I had heard about the gym, and decided to look at the website. I saw where people called Brian an angel. I knew I had found what I was looking for. Here is a man with an abundance of knowledge who loved helping people reach their goals, and a man who loved God. I knew I had found what I was looking for. I remember typing the email. I was shaking when I hit the send button, because I knew there was no turning back. Nothing was ever going to be the same. I was stepping out on Faith. I emailed Brian and asked him if he had ever worked with a person my size, with the health issues I faced. He emailed back and asked me to come by the gym. What touched me the most was that he signed his email God Bless. I knew right then and there this was an answer to prayer. I remember the first workout very well. I am very competitive, so every set/weight Brian asked me to do, I did. It was the best upper body workout ever! I could hardly hold the steering on the drive home ;-) Being so sore made me feel alive again. That was back in May of 2006 when I joined the gym, and I have never looked back. Brian has helped me so much. He taught me how to lift weights, and how to challenge myself. He is always there if I have any questions or need help. During one training session he introduced me to kickboxing. I was hooked! His presence in the gym helps me to strive to do the best I can, because that is what he wants for all of us. To be the best we can be. This gym is like coming home for me. I have been a member at several health clubs, but none of them can even hold a candle to Metroflex. At the other health clubs, I never felt welcome because I was not one of the "pretty" people. I was there to get healthy, and they would look at me like "why are you here?". I wanted to yell at them "Hello, have you taken a look at me???". The members here at Metroflex are very special people. Everyone here is trying to better themselves. They have goals and they work toward them. I have made so many wonderful friends at Metroflex, and they accept me as I am. I can't put in to words how much that means to me. I come in and workout with intensity, and feel very comfortable. Every one here is like family, so friendly and helpful. I am learning so much, and I love the atmosphere. There are days I come in dragging, and all I have to do is look around at everyone working out, and feel the energy in the gym, and I am ready to go. Those days are some of my best workouts! I once read that if you hang out with the chickens, you will never be able to soar with the Eagles. I can truly say that at Metroflex, I am soaring with the Eagles to heights I never imagined. I know I have a long way to go, but I am no longer by myself. I am reaching for the the stars, and I am becoming healthier and stronger. I do not have the words to say just how truly special Brian Dobson is, how wonderful his family is, and how awesome Metroflex Gym is!!! I thank God every day for Brian, and ask God to Bless Brian in all that he does. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Brian. God Bless, Jennifer Sanders
Metroflex isn’t for everyone. If you’re looking for a health club, keep looking. And yet it’s ironic that those other places are called "clubs," because members seldom even speak to each other. What kind of a club is that? Metroflex is a club for people who want to push their bodies to the extreme. You can shout and curse, you can chalk-up, you can drop the weights. There are more barbell plates than you can ever hope to lift and, from the photos and sayings on the walls to the ear-rattling music, everything is telling you to get one more rep than ever before and then get one more on top of that. And yet, like a real club or like a church, what makes Metroflex work is not the building or the objects inside, it’s the people. From the greatest bodybuilder of all-time, Ronnie Coleman, to gregarious owner Brian Dobson to the kid who joined yesterday, everyone is trying to push themself further than ever before, and it’s the energy of this shared commitment that makes Metroflex great. You can feel it, like an electrical charge, the moment you step in the door. When photographer Kevin Horton and I first walked inside we felt like we’d gone back in time to when there truly was a brotherhood of iron. We love that gym, and each year when we return it feels like going home. Metroflex proves it isn’t a building or the newest machines or the latest cardio classes that make a gym great. It’s the people and it’s a shared attitude that encourages you to be yourself and better yourself that make Metroflex the best hardcore gym in the world. In August of last year (2006) I arrived in Arlington, Texas to compete in the Europa Super Show in which I had placed 4th the previous year as a rookie pro bodybuilder.
Last year I hadn’t the chance or time to visit the world renowned hardcore hangout but on this occasion there was no way I was going to pass up the chance to train in the best bodybuilding gym in the US.
Up until early 2006, I lived in my home country of Sweden where I had read and saw pictures of Metroflex gym, the gym where the world’s best – Branch Warren, Johnnie Jackson, Quincy Taylor and 8 times Mr Olympia Ronnie Coleman forged their amazing sculptures – within Brian Dobson’s house of pain. That pain is of course translated to pleasure when you see the results that one can obtain from one of the last true bodybuilding gyms of the USA.
Such was my experience of Metroflex I returned the day after and the day after that – I was addicted and wanted more with each passing day. On the last day before I flew back to my adopted home – Venice, California I was honored to have a photo shoot for a magazine training alongside Quincy Taylor. At this time I was also recording my new DVD.
Brian is such a sweetheart and made my stay so helpful and memorable I wear my Metroflex t-shirt with pride when I walk into my local Gold’s gym in Venice, California. Every time I see a picture of Metroflex in one of the many fitness magazines it takes me back to that time I hope to relive in the not so distant future. Thank you for your friendship and advice Brian. I promise to be back soon bigger, badder and better.
Training at Metroflex Gym over the past year has been a great personal experience. I had reached a point of burnout when I moved to the Fort Worth area in January of 2006. Going on the exemplary reputation of Metroflex, I began working out with owner and renowned trainer, Brian "colonel" Dobson. The wealth of knowledge and experience I have gleaned from Brian's selfless coaching has helped me to rediscover my competitive spirit, making me bigger and better than ever before. The countless hours The Colonel has spent with me have enabled me to learn more about the bodybuilding side of training, and in turn have enhanced my relationships with my clients. I feel that Brian Dobson has been an invaluable friend and mentor who has enriched my life not only as a trainer but also as a friend. I hope to be a member of the Metroflex team for a long time to come.
The feeling and experiences I have of Metroflex gym can be explained in point terms - adrenaline rush, pleasurable pain, good music, great people and awesome atmosphere. Being a bodybuilding photographer, I thought it was one of the best - if not the best - gyms to ever shoot a monstrous beast within the confounds of his play pen. The heavy weights, the great pictures on the wall and the natural lighting that beams onto the indistinguishable torture devices are all part of the character traits that make Metroflex the undisputed heavyweight king of hardcore hangouts. I have trained in gyms around the world and only ever in my lifetime two gyms have drawn such an attraction to me that I would consider relocating to train there - Dorian Yates's Temple gym in Birmingham, England and Brian Dobsons Metroflex gym in Texas, USA. Editor of Kaged Muscle magazine - Kris Gethin.
For anyone currently deciding whether or not to join Metroflex..........I say join without question!
My experience with weight training at Metroflex was outstanding! Squatting...deadlifting......oh yea......can I say I put on 9 lbs in 6 weeks...woohoo! Eat your hearts out there fellas...(grins).
The gym provides a total bodybuilding "hard core" training facility!....it's designed and set up for those who are serious trainers to get in and get out using its excellent equipment. For those beginners, the knowledgable staff is there to help and assist.
Metroflex should mean bodybuilding if one were to look at the definition in a dictionary. I had not been in a gym for years, but, starting at Metroflex was by far the best place to regain my mental and physical strength - my friends called me "Hoss Stud" ...you know that "ol' fart" thing with strength! For those reading this testimonial and being over 45...I say please.......I started back at Metroflex when I was 46 and it beats taking calcium - hands down!
Do not miss your opportunity to join a gym that knows what it is to "Train". I am now in So Cal but if Metroflex comes out here............you know I will be in that registration line!
Several years back I saw Brian Dobson walk into my church wearing camouflage pants and a sleeveless shirt. It wasn’t long before he was a regular part of our congregation and not long after that he was inviting me to work out with him. I have been grossly overweight for nearly twenty years and haven’t worked out since my High school football and rodeo days. Twenty years of preaching and sitting behind a desk left me so weak that when bench pressing I could only lift the bar without any weights on it at all. I was embarrassed but Brian was patient, motivating and insistent on me getting stronger and loosing fat. He has worked out with me over And over again. There is something about Brian that makes you want to do things you otherwise would never think you could. He is an encourager and personal trainer like no other. The proof is in the results. Since that first visit to Metroflex I have lost over 50 pounds of fat and I leg press 1000 pounds and bench press well over 200. That might not seem much by Metroflex standards but it is more than I ever imagined I would be able to do. This would have never happened if not for Brian and Metroflex. Not only am I stronger and healthier, I am full of hope for even greater things. Brian is an unsung hero to so many people and a world changer in more than one arena. People from all over the world seek his advice in every sport conceivable. He is praised in national magazines yet he trains lowly people like me. He is a savage in the hunting field and a loving husband and tender dad in his home. He has an awesome balance of brute force and mercy that make him a leader that I am proud to have worked with. On another note Brian has personally been instrumental in fund raisers and toy drives for Christmas visits to poor children in Matamoras, Mexico . He has been with me and helped me feed thousands in the trash dumps of Mexico and even to poor people locally. His heart for the underdog is amazing and the love of God pours through his muscular exterior. He is a valuable friend, ally and somebody that is behind the scenes on more success stories than you and I will ever know. I have seen him shoot a buck from several hundred yards, stab a wild boar with his knife, pile on weights and tell me I can lift them; and I have seen him weep over hurting people and help the homeless and the destitute. Brian Dobson and his wife Brandi are world changers and Metroflex Gym is a life changing place without the frills and flash but with the results and testimonies. I am personally someone who had benefited greatly from Brian’s hard work and dedication. I thank God for him and for the difference he has made with me. I want to tell you about my experience at Metroflex Gym. I am a 52 year old female amateur bodybuilder. I have been going to Metroflex Gym for over 15 years. My experience at Metroflex is not only do you get stronger and better you gain mental improvement also.
There are many people who go to the gym to get physically stronger, and improve their physical appearance. At Metroflex Gym in Arlington, TX you can train next to the best bodybuilders in the country: 8 time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman, IFBB professionals Johnny Jackson and Branch Warren, and the newest members of the Metroflex family teenagers that are learning how to do powerlifting and Special Olympic athletes.
I have learned to be more focused and be dedicated to not only my sport of bodybuilding but to my family and myself. This is solely because of the owner, Brian Dobson. Brian does this by example by the way he works out and trains himself and how he conducts his life and his business. Brian is a very centered and focused man, who is a Christian first, then a loving husband and father, then comes his love of power lifting and bodybuilding.
The business of owning and operating the gym is a love also, you can tell this in the day to day operation of the gym. The gym has been in the same location for almost 20 years and is an example of what you can do if you have the heart and will power to live your dream. Regina Raine
Metroflex Gym and Brian Dobson are life changers. It is said that "once you go hardcore, you never go back". I am here to say that this is true! One month in Metroflex Gym with Brian Dobson and his awesome staff and you will be hooked! No other gym will fill that burning, primal need that comes with working out in a hardcore environment. It was the hardcore atmosphere that held my motivation and led to a 12 month, 65 lbs weight loss. I not only lost sizeable amount of weight, but noticed an increase in overall strength. This was evident in the rapid improvement in the amount of weight I could lift between sessions. Brian Dobson is a great trainer, and expects the same out of his staff. His firm belief in Jesus Christ also keeps him at a level of high integrity and makes him a great person to be accountable to. The only gym that I would recommend in the DFW metroplex is Metroflex Gym! Joe Shehan Congressional Aide, Washington DC
Brian introduced me to bodybuilding about 18 years ago and has always been there for me. We have been there for each other and he has always been there for me during good times & hard times. He has always been a true friend, and he introduced me to bodybuilding. Brian was the first bodybuilder I ever met and he took me under his wing; and he taught me everything he knows. Thanks to him I am now one of the top trainers in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area and a nationally-ranked bodybuilder. -Jay Moore, NPC Bodybuilder

Walking into the most hardcore gym in America in 1998 seemed pretty intimidating for me as a high school kid. But unlike other gyms which are filled with glitz, glamour and socializing, Metroflex gave me the focus, concentration, education and motivation I needed to to train to my fullest potential. Brian and his staff helped me find my strengths and weaknesses. After nine years, I am proud to have Brian on my side when I need him and as a friend. Even though after my accident I could not train as hard as I could and moved to Plano, I still remember what I have learned and how Brian Dobson and Metroflex Gym have left a positive mark on me forever. My deepest love for my second home and my good friend. God Bless and Good luck,
As a professional photographer and videographer whose work has appeared in almost every major bodybuilding and fitness magazine, I look for a facility where I can portray bodybuilders in their "best light," in both senses of the phrase. Metroflex is a no nonsense, no frills, hardcore bodybuilding gym. There is no better place to shoot a bodybuilder in a totally realistic bodybuilding environment. The owner of Metroflex Gym, Brian Dobson, is a bodybuilder himself and knows what bodybuilders need and want. He's always helpful to local and visiting bodybuilders, and there are numerous professional bodybuilders who have trained at the legendary Metroflex Gym. It's a place where anyone can train at his or her own pace and style, a real rarity in today's glitzy, keep everybody happy, politically correct facilities. I've shot photos and videos of dozens of competitors at Metroflex Gym without a single glitch or hassle. For any bodybuilder visiting or passing through the Dallas - Ft. Worth Metroplex, Metroflex is a must-visit. It's an awesome reminder of what bodybuilding is truly all about. Joe Lobell MostMuscular.Com
I remember the day I first stepped foot into Metroflex. I was 25 years old weighing 250 pounds. I had no confidence, will power, or respect for what true athletes endure. It was the beginning of the summer of 1995. Brian was skeptical in answering the question "how long will it take me to loose weight"? However many people have asked that very question, I guarantee Brian gives each soul the same amount of encouragement, advice, and friendship needed to drag your butt in every day and train your heart out! That first summer I lost 60 pounds and gained so much more than words can describe! I continued to grow from a scared, overweight, bad decision-making girl into a confident, healthy, and happy woman. I am proud to be a friend of Brian's and I love him dearly not just for his strong sense of values and his ability to produce an amazing atmosphere that demands strength. I am proud to say "I train at Metroflex," because that in itself means I have determination, will, and desire to be a better human being.
